This example got me a long way towards a solution that I was looking
into creating.  Just want to verify that this code would also fall under
the LGPL and that I could bundle up and distribute my implementation of
the hibernate appender?

I have refactored the classes, added some default implementations,
created a couple unit tests, verified on Hibernate 3.0.5, and rolled
everything into a library.  Not sure where the best place for this
contribution.  I have considered just creating a project on SourceForge.
 But if there were interest in incorporating this into the hibernate
source tree or log4j source tree, I would be happy to do so.

Either way, if anyone would like a copy just shoot me an email until I
get it up somewhere for download.
